Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate. Psalms 127:3-5
Children are near and dear to my heart! I wish that I could personally take in all the little ones out there who need to be loved and nurtured. When I hear of the staggering numbers of children in orphanages, foster care, and living on the streets, it is simply depressing.
But, I cannot and will not stand by and do nothing. While attending a Beth Moore event this weekend, I was greatly moved to contribute to the cause of children by sponsoring a child through the organization Compassion. Those who know me, know that I have longed for years to have more children. Right now, adoption is not an option for our family. It has burdened me deeply that I have the love to give to another child, but have been unable to have another child. So, I am doing the next best thing: I am going to sponsor a child and love her through my prayers and financial support. It is not expensive; only $38 a month.
